Galvanized Pipes

Galvanized pipe is produced by reacting molten metal with the iron substrate to form an alloy layer, thereby achieving a bond between the substrate and the coating. Hot-dip galvanizing involves first pickling the steel pipe to remove iron oxide from its surface. After pickling, the pipe is cleaned in a tank containing an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride or zinc chloride, or a mixture of both, and then sent to a hot-dip galvanizing bath. Hot-dip galvanizing offers advantages such as a uniform coating, strong adhesion, and long service life. In northern regions, most processes use galvanized steel strips directly coiled into pipes, supplemented with a zinc replenishment process.

The steel pipe substrate undergoes complex physical and chemical reactions with the molten galvanizing solution, resulting in a tightly structured zinc-iron alloy layer with excellent corrosion resistance. This alloy layer integrates seamlessly with the pure zinc layer and the steel pipe substrate, providing outstanding corrosion resistance.
